That there is pending legislation in California to allow 3rd party testing for CDL candidate (not employer testing)...
I think it could work, especially where schools are close to one another and have each school hire an instructor that is certified as an examiner and set aside one day a week where that examiner is sent to another school to examine their students; eliminating (or at least minimizing) the chance that the examiner has had any prior contact with the student.
Third party testing should only be used when DMV appointments are backlogged by a week or more.
Any thoughts?
I heard a rumor.....

Many states have allowed third party examiners for many years. I can't speak about any state other than Utah, but here, the allow, (or perhaps allowed, it's been a lot of years,) the guy that taught our class at a applied technical school, to also do the testing.
And yes, I have to agree with you. This is a definite conflict of interest. Third part examiner is fine, but not if it is from the school that taught the course. -
works so well in FL
they go to school one day
get license next
fly to Chicago get a well abused white Volvo
and live the eastern european dream -
I'm sure testing at the school would take a lot of the anxiety away, but I don't like the idea. I think being able to perform in a high anxiety situation is an integral part of being a professional.

TN has been doing that for years...... BUT the tester can't work for any driving school
-
That's great I will be sure to build my next CDL mill there every student will pass and I will take government grants for giving them a job
-
I forgot to mention I will give them a job but make conditions so bad they quit. This way new drivers will be able to keep coming in and I get more grants
-
Just little clarification - the Volvo is not abused, it is brand new Volvo

And, many (not everyone, I know also people that can not drive car, but have CDL...different story) of the people I know and have their CDL that way, are truck drivers with yeasrs of experience from Europe. Just they does not speak enough good English to pass their pre-trip in Illinois.TruckDuo Thanks this. -
You do not need good English in order to drive, don't you think? I said good, not no English.
