Straight pipe or muffler?

    My muffler has rusted out. Is it better to get a straight pipe or replace muffler? Dot requires muffler?

    Get a muffler with strait flow thru, legal everywhere. Have you priced hearing aids lately, good ones are 4 to 6k, save you ears, save money.

    It's not the DOT you need to be worried about, it is all those places that will ticket you for the noise.

    I upgraded from 5 inch muffler to dual 8 inch straights. I love it, but have become hated by many for obvious reasons.

    Buy the time you buy the straight pipe, especially if it's chrome, you could of saved money buying a high flow muffler.

    I'm cheap, I am still building up money/paying down debt. I don't want need the chrome. I will prolly just get a standard muffler and be done with it.
