Hmmmm. I can get both LaCrosse and Danner on base at the BX. Think I need to head down there and see what kind of prices they're asking.

I like the Wolverine 10" wellington with durashock and steel toe. There's no shoe laces to tie and they're very ccomfortable. I wore around fuels and never slipped and they lasted over 5 years. They only cost around $139. BTW you never know how a steel toe will protect you.
markgel43 Thanks this. -
Herman Survivors # wally world. Non slip soles, good in ice an snow/rain. Not to hot in hot weather plus pretty comfy wearing them all day. Almost forgot......$39.00!
-
I have tried them walmar boots and they start out good
But two or three months into the walk they suck
I have not tried the herman survivors so that I will have to check -
I wear Red Wings, and my work boots are the most comfortable pair of shoes I have.

Danner is all I wear, its like wearing Nike shox, but boots got my first pair when I was attached to AFSOC in the military....highly recommend danner....
-
Hey Mr Vegas! Spent 5 years there! Where can you get those Wolverines?
-
U at MacDill? I spent some time there and Hurlbert Field in the Panhandle way back when....unfortunately OPSEC and a NDS prevent me from disclosing what units I was attached to.
-
Yeah... Have access to MacDill... One of the nice things about having one of those "retired" cards.

Sketcher "Sargents" waterproof, no steel toe, boon-docker style, (that reminds me, i remember wearing gov't issue boondockers I got in boot camp and loved for at least five years), Anyway, the sketchers cost $50 at J.C. Penney's back then. Unfortunately, they don't make 'em any more.
