I think most people are skeptical. Some stories sound too far out there to be true. I've gotta say that I didn't buy the original story. Assuming it is true there are several lessons that drivers should learn. 1.) Nobody can make you drive in unsafe conditions 2.) If your company threatens to fire you if you don't leave the hospital, you're better off getting fired 3.) Always have enough money on hand to get yourself home, credit cards typically help in this situation.

What happened to @TB John? Did they throw him in jail when he went to visit?
-
What happened exactly was this: I stopped at TMC at aprox. 20:20 local time which is after regular visiting hours. I asked if there was a Mr. Normand there. Their reply was, "Without a first name we cannot confirm if a Mr. Normand is here, however we do have a record of that name in our system" I thanked them, turned around and left. End of story.HeWhoMustNotBeNamed, Truckergirl0720, truckon and 1 other person Thank this.

I guess it was the turn from somewhat interest in the OP and their plight to the promise of "selfies" from another poster that drew my remarks. Somehow I don't think the interest would be quite so high if it was Granny Clampett in the avatar.

My husband started work for CRST, running flatbed, a few months ago and we are happy with the company! And yes he DID get paid for orientation plus they paid for his rental car and hotel room to stay in while in orientation. But on the "topic" i do believe there is more to this story. -
Actually the flatbed division (Malone) pretty much runs as a separate company as the van division so I wouldn't be surprised at that. I do know the didn't pay on the van side but that was years ago so who knows what's changed.
-
My husband is a dedicated flatbed for CRST not CRST MALONE(they are the owner operator flatbedders). He runs dedicated out of Kentucky Electric but yes there have been some changes in the past few years and even more just a few weeks ago.

I have heard many, many stories from former CRST drivers....and none of it was pretty. Like being forced to team...or lease a crappy used truck....that's all I needed to stay away.
-
Forced team is for drivers with no experience/straight out of school and the truck you end up with is up to the the driver. If you don't like what they offer you don't take it. They can't make you but they will cover repairs and add it to your loan for you. I mean I'm sure if they can talk you into a lower end truck they will. But some people don't have good credit and have to take what they can get if they want to buy a truck that bad. I guess everyone has their own experience but my husband likes the company but then again he is not buying from them he just works for the company.

Cool. I was not aware they ran a dedicated division not part of Malone.Lucky&FrogOTR Thanks this.
