Why do you want to be a truck driver? Simple question really but have you ever asked yourself that?
Your answer may determine if it's the right choice for you..
Is it because you didn't go to college for a degree but need to work somewhere?
Is it because your family has a trucking business?
Is it because after looking in the help wanted ads you didn't like the thought of working at McD's?
Do you think it will be an easy way to make more than minimum wage?
Is your Dad/ brother/cousin etc a truck driver?
Do you like the thought of traveling the country & getting paid for it?
Thanks

I grew in a truck picking up milk with my dad on farms. Now I don't pick up milk cause it doesn't pay as good but I still haul food grade tankers and love it.
EndHatred Thanks this. -
I do it for the respect and money

So you started in the business in a family business? Good for you, was every one in your family upset when you switched?
Always a joker in the pack

Grew up with my uncle pulling steel out of the mills in w.va and pittsburgh in the 70s and knew thats what i wanted to d
nly wish i knew then what trucking would become today unfortunately though its in my blood.

I am not. As for seeing the country, I guess so but its more being outdoors and, hopefully, always moving.
-
My reason too. I couldn't see myself staring at the same four walls my whole life. So do you like it now?
-
I do it for the glory, and the women.
-
They give out glory awards for that "behind the orange curtain?"
