I knew a Larry Davis once. Probably not him.
-
Likely not about Sammy Davis or Mac Davis
not4hire Thanks this. -
Right, cause you can't get to Davis because of that monster rock slide.
I'm going to drive up there with a shovel and help em out. -
That #### rock slide is a pain in the ###... now you really have to detour to get around the coops. Either over Arbuckle Mountain or through a state park down to Ardmore. I'll be glad to see 35 back to normal. Hurry up with that shovel and bring an extra for me.
Getsinyourblood Thanks this. -
If I were asked a question like "what day of the year I would like to have off" in any interview, that would be the end of that interview. That to me spells "slavedriver".
There are too many better deals elsewhere for anyone to tolerate that sort of thing.Lonesome Thanks this. -
Rediculousness.

What would the OP have liked to heard following his answer ...
"Christmas? Sure, we will park all of our trucks at drivers homes for the week surrounding Christmas. We will tell all of our customers to wait for our drivers to decide they've had enough time at home and come back out"
This Christmas home-time is always going to be a problem for both carriers and truck drives. (Especially at regional and national general freight truckload carriers) But I'd be glad for the honest reply and not some obviously BS reply that attempted to make the carrier seem like the most benevolent carrier in the nation. -
I do quite a few trips by that place. There's always at least 100 tractors sitting around the yard. Reading their threads on here it maybe isn't so much they can't hire drivers as they can't keep them.

A regional outfit that doesn't get its drivers home Christmas can't really be called regional. Around here I can't think of a single regional carrier (and there are a bunch) that doesn't deadhead it's drivers home for Thanksgiving, Christmas and also get their drivers home weekly. I never missed one of those holidays in 11 years at my last carrier and they deadhead ed me home more than once over 1,000 miles. If you don't get home at least once a week you are not regional.
