Cheaper , and works tons better without the mess. Invest in a railroad locomotive air horn. That'll move 'em. LOL......

The guy in Maine that died this year on the 4th from launching a firework off his head was 22, thank god he reached the magic age that made him smart enough to drive across state lines.

Yes there are people under 21 that are too immature to drive a truck, there are also people over 21 that are too immature to drive a truck. The common denominator is and always will be immaturity. Age has absolutely no bearing on that.

Seems many are in agreement, doesn't matter on age, If it comes down to maturity you would think companies would do psyche tests?

Yeah then we might have a genuine driver shortage. Some companies are starting to get more in depth during the interview to weed people out, hopefully it continues catching on with more and more companies

If the shoe doesn't fit then don't buy the shoe

Really? Blue collar corporations maybe, haven't heard of it yet within the trucking industry, what have you heard?

Well here is a perfect example of the mindset of the current "CITY" raised kids which is why they are unsuitable for intrerstate travels. I personally know a 17 year old that constantly violates the 1 am drive curfew the state has just to hang out with his friends or with the last one talking to a girl, and he does not care that he may get caught and loose his license, or that if he gets into a accident with a druck it will still be considered his fault cause he should not have been on the road anyway. And all the kids in the area that I am in are like that. Now if they are willing to disregard that rule what else would they be willing to disregard casue it does not benifit them.

Now as far not being able to drive 9 mile to another city because its in another state or not being able to haul some loads cause they are leaving the state I do not agree with. Creating a system to where you would have a certian radius from your home terminal would be an easier create than creating standards of evaluation for 18 year olds to determine if they are mature enough to drive.

I always wonder this when my trainees complain about their boots not fitting right on the first day. If they didn't fit why did you get them?

At Schneider they have to have more then just a pulse now to get into orientation, and 1/3 who show up don't get throughost the program. Problem with push evans is they're easy to beat when the tester isn't a qualified mental health professional and has only just met the testee. Just look at all the problems jais (local lockup) have in identifying mental heal the issues.
