JBurton, thanks again for the updates, so they do check for sugar and protein in your urine there? If you can, can you be more specific as to why they sent those individuals home? How are you getting to San Antonio, will they put you up in a hotel? Anyways, sorry for the twenty questions, I just am curious, I did my drug screen today and hopefully they'll have the results next week. I'm a little worried though, I'm taking prescription medication for weight loss, so I asked them if they were going to note it down on the form to let them know I disclosed the medication and the nurse said that they don't do that, that I'll have to wait till the Dr. calls me to explain the medication and the reason for taking it. I wrote down the name, address and phone number of my physician just incase the want to reference the information I noted down. I really was looking forward to leaving this Sunday, wanna get back on the road already. Anyways JBurton, thanks again, keep in touch, hopefully we'll meet up somewhere.

soem research on FMCSA site should tell you if you are taking a OOS med.alexx0371 Thanks this.

Thanks Mickeyrat for the info. I have done the research on their web site ( FMCSA) and found nothing about the medication(s) that I'm taking as far as it being "illegal" or in anyway hinder your ability to drive a commercial vehicle. I've asked my physician multiple times about it and she has stated that I do need to disclose it to whomever is doing the drug screen but it should not hinder me from driving. I recently saw a list of all of the medications that will prevent you from "obtaining" your CDL and mine weren't any of them on the list.

shouuldn't been an issue as long as its prescribed and you have done your dilligence.
alexx0371 Thanks this. -
As to why guys get sent home:
Skills - or lack there of is the number one
Attitude - if you're a jerk, or lazy, and skills are lacking they are more likely to send you packing. If you give SNI 100%,.they'll give you 110% back. Most of the guys who suck at driving that get to my truck are at least driven to improve.
Paperwork - failure to disclose, failure to bring all needed documenu etc
Pre work screen - if we think you're a prime rib dinner away from a heart attack or otherwise likely to be unable to perform.the required work.
Gross Stupidity - causing trouble at the hotel, blazing it up, making inappropriate remarksGriffinator, 91B20H8, mosstrap and 3 others Thank this. -
10-4 Mickeyrat, I appreciate your response

Gentleroger,
Thank you so much for answering my question, I take it you're a TE? Other than the medication I'm taking for weight loss issue, which shouldn't be an issue really due to it being prescribed by a license physician, the only other issue I have is that I'm a rusty with manual shift, my experience OTR for the most part have been primarily using automatic transmissions. Other than that, I think that everything should go fine @ the Dallas OC.
