    What the eff...

    No.

...anyways. Seeing this thread come active again reminds me. I got shut down by sni because I didn't do something they wanted. (Long story, I'll spare the lot of you. :D)

Found a parking spot at a local Walmart and I did just what you suggested there Chasing Dollars. Sorta. I had 3 days time off. I managed to get fully stocked for a weekend renovation at home, found and visited a couple museums and even went window shopping for a new car.

I used google maps, but I saw no reason to us a bus. So I walked it all.

Thinking I need to get shut down more often!

    Quite enjoyed myself.

Looking forward to following, and hopefully contributing to, this thread... Yes, we have a job to do, responsibilities to our families, and our employers, but to be able to, from time to time, being able to stop and enjoy this wonderfully beautiful nation should be considered one of the benefits of the job too.

Starting orientation this week so I too am looking forward to the view... Stay Safe!!!

If you're ever in the eastern shore, just North of the Chesapeake bay bridge/tunnel there is a walking trail off the rest area that leads to an old WW2 Battery and overlook. Cool spot to spend a 30min break at least.

Thanks! I don't know of a time limit? I have done a full break there before and not been bothered. I know in bad windy weather they close the bridge for trucks, there may be a limit on trucks not waiting to cross in situations like that.

    Car falls off bridge...2013

Crash Data where accidents mostly occur...

The Bay bridge is most dangerous in America!...2007

Yeah that bridge can be treacherously windy, I've been stuck a few times not being able to cross, that's why I thought I remembered seeing a sign for a 2 hr limit.. Of course those times it was raining so I never did get out of the truck for a walk. but I'll take note next time.

Did you know the barriers on that bridge will not hold even a four wheeler from going into the bay if hit at a high speed, needless to say never would stop a truck? Quite a few people have gone down. Be Careful especially if you're pulling an empty.!

    Crossing northbound from Virginia.....Be Careful!
this video will show a cop sitting on the right just after the toll, 90% of the time there is a car there. The reason is because there is a height limit. The toll will measure you & if you are over height you won't be allowed to cross the bridge @ 13'6"because of the two tunnels.
Driving a Cascadia w/ loaded van trailer I got pulled over by him, told I was over height. I said I'ld crossed the bridge plenty of times. He had me go up to the bar (which you can see jutting out from the trees on the right at time of 1:03 just before the street lamp ) which measures your height.. Was then told I was OK to cross. Why was I first stopped?
He said because if you don't enter the toll slowly trucks can bounce up causing the meter to show you're too high by an inch
. So go slow through the toll!
