I would not say homesick. I have no wife or kids. But I do appreciate the input.

    I don't need to cope.
    I like being by myself

Even on resets I usually just stay in the Truck. Except for maybe lunch/dinner or a walk.

I did not like true otr where a person is out 2 weeks or more. After doing regional getting home every 6 days or so I was a lot happier so I found dedicated gig where I got back on Fridays and left again Sunday or Monday. I'll never again work where I do resets on the road.....way too #### boring stuck in an 8 x 12 box.

How old are you? And do you have a family? If your young, say below 30 years old, especially in your early 20's, where being social is important, yes OTR will be extremely loney. If you're more set in your ways, over 30 years old, it will be more bearable because you have other priorities than being social. And yes it helps to be introverted and not mind being alone. If you're concerned about being alone, maybe team up with anouther driver, get your 1 year experience, and then find a local job. Good luck.

When I want to talk to someone intelligent, charming, and witty, I talk to myself.

Having wife and young kids at home changes everything. If that is the case, I can't help you except to say perhaps get a local or strict regional job. But even at that there are going to be times it will be tough in the beginning. Eventually you'll find a way to cope, maybe before the cheating and/or divorce happens.

Me, myself, and I get along pretty well most of the time. After about 4-6 weeks out....we've have a few issues. Nothing serious.....it always worked out.
