Well just thought I'd check in. Kinda feel like I've been playing hookey. My coach is ok. We get along. But seeing the coaching program I kinda feel bad for those who ain't ever been out here. They pretty much run their trucks as a team op. Not so much training as it is a cheap way to get their lease guys more miles. I drive all night and he drives all day. These other guys are gonna struggle if their training is like mine. Cuz they ain't really getting the training they need except how to drive long hrs Of I train when I get to that pt I'm gonna do it much different. Anyways rant over.
Things are going ok though. My wife is having hard time adjusting and misses me dearly. My kids are eager to hear from me and can't wait for me to get back home.
My wife, my blessing. Will be ok though. She is such an angel and trusts and supports my decisions God has blessed me with such a great woman. She is going to come out with me for a few weeks at the end of September. Can't wait it'll be so fun. Anyways I'm gonna check outta here. Yall be safe out there now ya hear. God speed.

Heard From Trans Am Recruiter today an at No Suprise to me they told me if I get approved I would have to come in as a New Student driver Because I haven't driven a Tractor trailer on a regular Basis since Beginning of April I figured it would be like that due to my lack of OTR experience so just waiting on Approval she has to verify a few more things

Jd. The approval process won't take long the good thing with TA is that if you are approved you are approved everything is done before you get there for orientation You have to have you physical card already. The only thing you got to do is take a ua. It is good going knowing that you got a job and not get there and find out something disqualified u bc they didn't run all your dac and driving record and that stuff. No physical to take either they should have you approved pretty quick. Good luck to you sir.

Good to hear from you, texashounddog! I am glad everything is going fairly well for you. In most cases, the training program with TransAm has turned out to be no training at all...and you are right, it is very difficult for someone that is totally new to the industry. Hang in there! You are on your way and September is just around the corner!

You will do fine, jdmredneck. TransAm is aggravating and frustrating, etc. etc. and that is on a good day.
However, for the most part, they are fair and they will give you the opportunity and experience that you need. They are a gateway to a better position.
