I know it's been a few weeks but I was just hired for this company in connecticut can anyone give me information on the ct runs and pay if they like it. Anything I still haven't given my job I am currently at a two week notice. I am nervous to give up a steady job for this one. Any help! Thanks

Anybody did o/o for this company?

I am leased on to Cardinal/Greatwide pulling tankers. They let our registration/tags run out and work has shut down. Don't care enough to tell you why. If you want to starve, make the jump, but you had better have a plan B
Lone Ranger 13 Thanks this. -
Anyone have any recent info on cardinal? Specifically Austin, TX?

I worked for cardinal on their Petsmart account out of Columbus, OH for a year (9/13 - 9/14). During that time they were completing the merge with greatwide, but since most cardinal runs dedicated accounts the greatwide part didnt affect us any. in general it was a good company, the staff never really bothered us, we ran at night and did early morning deliveries at the stores so the only person we saw was the security guard when picking up the trailers to get on the road, they were preloaded the day before, or usually anyway. there were a few times we ran a bit later because the warehouse was behind (usually after a holiday).
when i first started the pay was better, they say they average between 800-1000 a week which was what i was getting, ocassionally over. later on i was making a bit less than that, even had some days where they called and told me they didn't need me to come in because they didn't have anything for me. a few weeks of paychecks in the 600 range and i decided to go back over the road. They run paper logs, used blackberry type phones with an app on them to get your dispatch, once in a while you had to come in on a saturday for training, work weeks were mon-friday for most, few guys were sun-thurs, some routes ran up into canada, upstate NY, florida and the northeast for fish runs. Of course this is all for just that one account as I have heard other people have totally different experiences, so you'd have to find someone running the dedicated you're thinking of getting into for specifics -

when I first applied a recruiter from main office called right away, and put me in touch with a local recruiter for the Austin area...everything sounded good, but they dragged their feet and didnt hear back from them for a few days...found another company, Salem Carriers...Headquarted in North Carolina but has a terminal in Dallas, hauling windows for MI windows..start on tuesday. pays alot better than what I had previous and I get home on weekends...also, will get stop, detention, layover, and breakdown pay after the first hour...Probably a good thing I didn't go with Cardinal...
