Just graduated ATDS out of Elm Mott (Waco), TX. Excellent instructors. Really cared. Pretty strict. No BS'ing and they wont stop until you get it right and understand what youre doing. Used my GI Bill. If you want a good school, ATDS is a really good one.

Whats up everyone. I'm also a recent ATDS graduate. I can say that ATDS really cares about teaching and assisting students to drive a truck the right way. From the CDL proccess to job placement, ADTS walks students through everything. The instructors have years and years of experience...they've been there done that 2 times. If you want to be a trucker and live in Texas...then i highly recommend ATDS

I am an ATDS Graduate, over all the instructors where excellent ,and the housing was not to bad. Things to be aware of !!!! #1 they really don't help you get a job you would have to get your own leads. They for sure would ensure to promote Werner enterprise,, there is a catch to that , the recruiter to that company its related to the people in the office, and they will discourage to go with other companies. I personally know that other companies that they recommend will give them a kickbacks to the people in the office for every student that they can recommend and sign up. ( not your best Interest "student") , there a lots of companies that call them however since they don't give them any money under the table they wont even tell the students about it. I was there in the office when they received few faxes from potential companies and they threw the paperwork away or when other companies called them they just humored them but they didn't say anything to the students, #2 most people would be under the impression that the only way to get a high paying job would be after acquiring experience -(not true) Over the road would not be your best bet, over the road companies will offer your the world but in reality you will not see your family for a while, the food in gas stations its expensive and very bad for you, showering will be about every two days , since you have to be driving a lot, and the pay will be extremely low (not worth your time vs the amount of ours that you spend working) ,. Look for local companies they are out there and they will hire you. try to find companies that will pay you by the hour and stay away from companies that will pay you per load, unless its by weight and per mile combined.. if companies offer your per mile it can be good but keep in mind that every time that you have to wait for a load or to drop off a load you will not get any hourly wage , and it can be up to 2 days for the wait. I am not trying to discourage anyone but the purpose of this is to open the eyes of people like me who had to learn the tuff way. If you are open to move anywhere , look for oil field companies , such as fracking or sand hauling or water hauling lots of them will hire you out of school and your can earn from 6-15k a month , and usually you can work 4-6 weeks on 1-2 weeks off. places that you can find this companies are , Pecos , midland , oddesa, Schneider ,big lake,(texas) or Hobbs new mexico, or north and south Dakota,... so keep your eyes open , don't go with the first offer that they tell you and do your research . I wish you good luck. and I hope this post would help...

Oil fields are laying off truck drivers; many of them are on this forum looking for OTR jobs.
Lots of good OTR jobs available. I always recommend a driver not pay much attention to what the CDL school pushes and ask questions on this forum. Some companies websites have "experience required" but in fact do hire new CDL grads.
Many of us like OTR and many new drivers are ready to leave their zip code and see the country.
Who did you hire on with after graduation? -
