They're not going to give you the actual permit before you have a medical card either way
-
Actually here in Tx you don't need your medical to get your permit, but you have to get it before you get your actual license... So look into your state's requirements.
-
I don't believe that for a second
-
Check with your state, but probably not.
Why not? Don't need one here in VA for a permit. They don't ask for a med card until you turn your paperwork in for your license. I also know for a fact you don't need one for a permit in my home state of MA. -
You don't have to believe it , but that doesn't make it any less true. You don't have to get your medical until you apply for the actual license. I know because I did it all last year.... At least here in Tx.
-
And what happens when you get pulled in for inspection two states over or have a wreck because your blood pressure was too high?
If you're 700lbs you'll be allowed to drive a truck with a permit until you get the actual license. OK RIGHT -
Don't change the subject, where talking about getting your Medical Card as a REQUIREMENT to get your permit, which it isn't in most places. Not your opinion of whether that should be the way it works or not. Nobody is stopping you from going on some other states DMV sites so you can prove yourself wrong.

^Exact same procedure in the Show Me State.
My son sends a new hand down at least every couple months to take test and get permit. The real question is can you drive on that permit without holding a med card in your possession. But that was not the OP question. -
That's clearly still on topic. And you're wrong.
