Swift flatbed vs Roehl Flatbed

I think you can call any of those recruiters back, and they'll be glad to hear from you. It'll make 'em feel like they won. Like their special recruiting powers beat out all the others. VICTORY IS MINE!

 

Henderson Trucking. It was a three way toss up (eewww, that sounds wrong) between Swift, Roehl and Henderson. I start on the 31st.

Henderson had some things I like, and are a bit of a smaller company, but they pull trailers for Prime, so the freight should be available. They also guarantee 2100 miles at 38 cpm, as long as you were available to drive (not on hometime).

But no flatbed division.

 

Thanks, it was a long time coming, I think I double guessed myself every other day. Part of the problem was that I had to finish out the job I was at, so I had the luxury of time and too much time lets the mind play tricks. But now, that time is up. I feel pretty good about it now that i made a commitment.

Honestly, just making a choice put my mind at ease.

 

500 x 5 =2,500
2,500x 4wks give or take 10,000
10,000 x 7 mo 2 wks = 75,000

75,000 solo miles are required after phase 2 not during training

 

Holy crap, I was not thinking correctly.
75000÷2100 = 36 (rounded) weeks.
NOT 36 days like I previously posted. Brain fart. My bad.
If you averaged 2500 miles per week it'd only be 30 weeks.

 

very much so "one sided" contract w/o being on the hook themselves w/o promising X amount of miles per wk. can drag out aloooooong time... then ask your self why would a driver quit.... maybe cause they aren't getting the miles to satisfied a person needs let alone a family needs...

that being said all jobs have its plus and minus so forecast were you see yourself 3,6 and 9 mo down the road & don't get me wrong Roehl seems like a great Company if you can manage that kind of contract

my dos centavos for a first timer student driver is to drive team 6 mo or 9
one dispatch are normally long runs w/plenty of miles, 2 heads are better than one... specially if you never experience your 1st winter and winter Mt. driving and or hanging iron {chains} adds up to good safety record.... first to be dispatch when teams walk through the driver lounge door over "solo" drivers in the terminal or over your qualcomm pronto service if your truck ever needs to serviced and the wheels are always turning = cha-ching $

then strike out on another division "as experience driver" that has X miles and hopefully a good CSA to boot
