Hello everyone I am new here. I have been reading threads here for a couple of months and this is my first post. I will be taking my daughter with me for a month or two and was wondering where any spots to stop and take her were like zoos, theme parks, baseball games, etc. Anything to get us out of the truck for a day and let her have some fun, but somewhere accessible by truck or close enough to walk or catch a cab. I will mainly be running California and the northwest out of Alabama so I will be on 10, 40, and 80 alot. Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks and be safe.
Looking for truck parking.

It was over ten years ago, but two of us took two trucks and 53' vans into sea world at San Diego. They just put us into the RV parking area.
It's a little pricey for entrance, but was more entertaining than I expected and of course lots of cute animals. -
I thank you sir. I may check into that. Ill be pulling a 53' dry van myself.
-
Thank you for supporting the further abuse of animals.
Vilhiem Thanks this. -
Yup, and I like to eat them too.
-
Give the guy a break. People accuse others of abusing animals, yet they eat meat, wear leather belts, wear leather shoes, use cooking oils, use dressings on the salad bar with animal oils & fats, eat fast foods with pork/chicken/beef/fish, eat beef jerky, bennie-weenies. Isnt' it better to look at live animals than eat parts of dead ones?
-
If we all thought like that, dinner would suck and there would be too many animals around...can you imagine...roaring bands of chickens and cows, clogging up the freeways !!
-
No everyone does all that.
-
I love TTR. Any and every post can go from truck parking to animal abuse faster than swift can hit something that's not even on a truck route. See what I did.
Truck parking
Animal abuse
Bad swift driving
What's next?Vilhiem and marineman227 Thank this. -
Back in Africa years ago there was a tribe that lived off hunting animals. Until one day the chief decided that they would explore a new way of life. Then on out, all hunting ceased.
Of course, after a couple years the population of animals exploded!
Gazelle trampled and ate the crops of the tribe... People complained but the chief did not budge.
Hyenas began to come after their pets. Again, people complained. And once more the chief refused to lift the change.
Elephants looking for water trampled one section of huts to the ground. Once more, the people complained. Yet still the chief held firm.
One day the chief decided to give a speech to his people. Proud of their new lifestyle he stood in front of them, raised his hands and began to address them.
Just then, three starving lionesses jumped from the nearby tall grass, grabbed the chief and tore him apart!
The people were shocked and appalled! But thankfully the pack of wild cats appeared to be sated for now.
Why did I tell this story?
Because it was the first time in all of history that reign ended on account of game.

On topic:
If I can find the section of the forum, I'll post it. But a few folks were talking about hiking trails.
Don't forget that you can park at Walmart and Cabelas. It might be easier to catch a cab or bus from there to someplace close by over trying to do that from a truck stop.

Some of the older member may know of a similar thread. But that's the one I was talking about.Last edited: Aug 12, 2015
