Yes ... but. Did your loaded call go through?Or did you get an out of range and your DM manually do your loaded call? If you DM did it, they need to update payroll.

What is the point of going off duty??

14 is ticking away no matter, right.

    What am I missing?

I get taking care of the 30, but beyond that I don't understand what difference it makes to sit off instead of on??

Is it in case you sit for ten?

Sitting on duty you are burning up your 70. Sitting off duty or in the sleeper you are only using your 14. Plus if you are there for 8 and show off then you can run a split if needed or just park somewhere if you have time for another 2 and then show 10

    MM3Deg Thanks this.

    Yup, what he said.

If you don't know how to edit your elogs then you need to learn. Every day I edit my logs to show the bare minimum on duty time for required activities that I can get away with so as to recover any excess back to my 70 bank. I've been audited several times with no issues. There are some that feel that too much editing attracts unwanted attention from the Log Police. I've had no issues but I can only speak for myself.

It's best to get it "right" as you do it but sometimes I get busy with other stuff so I have to go back and trims things up.

It's no big deal if you like burning through your 70 or are doing 34's every week. I very, very rarely do 34's when I'm out and run on recaps most of the time. Every single minute of your 70 is worth $$$.

Bottom line your 70 is what pays you ... maximize it on activities that you get paid on .... detention is free money. You don't have to use your 70 to earn it.

Remember if you are doing the split that the 8 hour break has to be in the sleeper, the 2 hour can be either off duty or sleeper.
