Just leave the door unlocked with the keys in it and put a sign that says FREE on the door. Nobody will touch it

install 12v normally closed solenoid air valves on air supply lines of truck and trailer. that would be the best I think. I remember Velvac had that kind of valves. just google it..

I seen one where the guy installed a switch to a normally open air solenoid valve that tied the emergency and service brakes together. If the switch was not on, when you released the parking brakes, the service brakes came on. You had to flip the hidden switch to close the valve so it worked normally.
Simple, cheap and pretty effective, enough to make most thieves move on anyway. -
yeah the best option for today.

I'd reprogram ECM to immobilizer

Good idea in theory. Will stop someone looking for a quick heist. However, tank locks did not help a fella I know. He parked in his usual spot for years. Started having fuel taken and bought tank locks. Came back to his truck to leave out and found a huge hole in his tank. Said it looked like it was hit with a pic-axe. Ended up putting a fence around his house and got a dog he leaves out. Hasn't lost a drop since.
