I only climb in the rig about once a day and yes it does effect the arthritis, which is why I don't drive now.... and I did climb up on the top and it was sagging with me I only am about 15 pounds lighter than my husband. We had a pete that was a paclease and it worked great the bunk limit was something like 320 so there was no problems...but the company made us turn in the lease trucks when they bought these 670's

I climbed up on it and my husband said it was sagging with me, so we need to reinforce it some how just a bit

Its not only unsafe but I think illegal. But one of them may not drive.[/QUOTE]
I'm not driving due to health issues. No one sleeps when the truck is in motion.

Correct, the bottom bunk is not even twin size so we both don't fit on it...he doesn't really fit on it for that matter..it's a poor design

I knew one of you wasn't driving and figured it was you because of your arthritis.Actually bean dip is the one that said first about the trk in motion. You two will get something figured out about the top bunk.

One thing I would caution you about. It is just like a vehicle suspension, in that no matter how much you reinforce some of it, it will only be as strong as its weakest link, which I'm thinking would be the supporting hardware that holds it up. Likely right at the hinge.
3/4 plywood might fix the "sag," but it will also add to the weight.

    shandala Thanks this.

Shandala, I'm kind of confused here. If you had leased the truck, was your lease up? If the lease was still in force, how could they make you turn in the truck that you agreed to lease, and stick you with one that you haven't agreed to lease?
Something here just doesn't sound right, to me. Unless you were willing to agree to the switch, anyway. Is it costing you more to lease the Volvo?
I know this is NOT the topic of this thread, but it really has me curious.
