I'm looking for any info on Sargent trucking thats hiring out of Knoxville TN. Getting ready to pay my truck off and need a new home. Was thinking about CRST Malone but after reading on here not too much good stuff about them. I know there's always 2 sides to each story, but enough complaints tend to tip the scales in the driver's favor. Anyway, it looks like there are a few Sargent trucking companies, but this one pays 90% of the linehaul. Any info I can get helps. I can call them and will get the recruiter's pitch, but I am curious to if there are any drivers on here who currently work there or has worked there? again any info helps thx!
anybody know about sargent trucking?

Malone is a pretty reliable show for those that run without all the tears and snot.
By no means take TRR as "THE" final say on "ANYTHING"
Give them another look without the clutter.
I have Friends that do real well with the Malone brokers, most are EX-(5-10yr)Landstar* if that tells you anything . . . . . ?

NO!! Run the other way. I am leased on for about three weeks now. can't pick your own loads. I was sit around 24 to 48 hours at a time waiting on loads. when you get one you wait to get loaded bust your but to get to destination wait to get unloaded. no detention pay. no trailer wash out pay. no tolls, they charge you $150 a week for cargo liability, $100 a week escrow (I have my own tags, ifta, permits) $30 something a week workman's comp, $25 EVERY time they put money on your card. $5 for every bill you trans flo. the only rate confirmation you gat is on their letterhead. it is one of the worst decisions I have ever made! I don't know about all of their trailers ( I bought my own) but I pulled one of their lease pur chess trailers and the reefer would cut off every 4 to 6 hours and I would have to stop or get out of bed to reset and restart it. they let me talk to "a driver" ( I think it was some one in recruiting) he assured me it was all good and a lot of my decision was based on what he said. he said he would help me with some of his freight that played really good and help me get going. that didn't happen either. the name on the side of your truck won't be Sargent it will be big rock transportation out of Maine. dot #970050 look at their safety record and inspection record. in three weeks I have been pulled around for inspection twice and looked at hard. please take my advice I wish some one had told me. as far as agents I don't know they would not give me a list but they only have 175 to 250 loads a day that I have ever seen.
