Driving in slippery conditions city hills..

    Well I'm no super trucker but I have driven log trucks in the pnw and stringing trucks in the 11 western for 33 years. That's the short list but you get the idea. First chains are always your best choice. Another good technique is power braking in gear going down hill. Don't touch that jake or brake saver/retarder. Look for the traction on the road, don't drive where everyone else does. Split the tracks! Theres more but then I'd have to charge you for lessons. LOL.

    Drive in center or on shoulder where no one else has, sometimes better traction. No problem on ice going straight, it's the turning and stopping that's the #####. Going down 5% or steeper, slow and steady. Screw everyone behind me, I want to make it home the same condition I left in.
