Flat bed companies that hire students or train?

China, you make a pretty solid stab at answering questions when asked; especially from new hands or soon-to-be hands. I will never sell you short on that; despite the fact I may really dislike most of the names you throw out there.

Let me ask you this though: has it ever occurred to you that it seems those with the sketchiest backgrounds, the worst MVRs, and some criminal history; are the ones that come on here and want research done for them and basically want the easiest possible route to circumvent their lousy life choices? Some people SUCK at driving; some can even crash twice in 36months. Maybe they don't need names; or suggestions..............maybe they need to be told they suck and to consider another trade!! Our trade has become rife with people who are using it as a job of last resort; and about 85% of the companies you suggest regularly are the ones who promulgate the "job of last resort" environment. So what I am asking is essentially this: for those (like the OP) who have hopped on here and are basically asking for their leg-work to be done for them..........consider telling them some hard truth instead of just herding them through another revolving door. Just consider it.

 

OP: The entirety of my exchange with China was NOT directed at you, nor your specifice situation; but rather the culmination of many questions similar to yours.

(Insert sarcasm here) I am sure that despite "doing your research" you would never have heard of Melton or Maverick without China's help.

My "offer of help" is this: get of the internet and go looking for trucking companies. Small ones. 2, 3, 10 trucks.......if you GO and LOOK.......and ASK......you will find a place that will give you a shot. Seems most want to google a company, fill out an online app, and boom get a job offer. Doesn't always work that way.

On a more serious note, I hope you grow a thicker skin and a bit more patience. You will be needing both in this business, and all the more with either of those outfits. I wish you all the best and hope you are not just another statistic that gets ground up by the megas. Have a great weekend.

 

So i finally finished up all my testing and got my CDL LP today in Maryland. I start school on Monday for month and a half. Ive been looking at a few companies for Flatbed to apply to so let's hope for the best!!
