    Couple of things:
    1. Might want to check that ground clearance theory. Those petercars ride low you may not be gaining anything or even losing.

    2. There is a nice red 2000 379 with 475 Cat on Auctiontime.com. starting bid is $40k. Might want to keep an eye on that auction.

    3. I think your fuel cost will go up. If you have 600 hp it sounds like you'll use it.

    Ask what he would want if he put it out the road, if you are too far off I wouldn't go any farther. If your reasonably close Id just take it from there.

    You seem to have a good head on your shoulders. Bet you'll do fine.

    Yeah, fuel will go up. I'm reluctantly prepared to take that hit. No egr/dpf repair bills/down time will help offset some of that.

    Another big reason is all I've ever drove is Pete hoods. Fixing them is just 2nd nature. Learning a 2012 KW has been like starting all over. Alot of late night reading on these forums to repair little things.
