Yeah,.. The original broker confirmation sheet declared it was 23k,.. as did the shippers BOL.

Didnt feel that heavy on my truck. Normally I scale most equipment,.. but I often just roll when a machine is supposed to be under 30k lbs and its not going very far.

No tickets or fines issued. Said as long as I could move it with out the machine hitting the ground,.. he would let me shift the weight.

I'd love to be 31k empty. My set up is 34,600 full of fuel. I have 150gal tanks,.. so I can knock 1000lbs off fairly easily. I'm probably well over 35,000 now with my new generator and AC set up. I need a lighter trailer so badly,.. but need it to be as strong as the one I have now. Kind of a double edged sword.

:DMy company is slowly replacing all their trailers with aluminum trailers so maybe in the near future I'll be below 30k empty. (I have no idea how much lighter they are) but the new trailers have 2 tool boxes so I'm sure I'll just make up the difference with more equipment I can carry:D

This is a great thread. For some interesting head scratchers, try hauling 80' power poles on a 53' maxi setup. All butt forward, 23' rear overhang, scale at 89k gross. I had only 28k on the drives and 51k on the trailer quads. This makes for a very interesting ride, to say the least.
Some other wrinkles, hauling out of Canada where you can only have 13200 steers, 37k drives and 52k triples. Then load that thing up with ice. The last load I got lucky on, the weather warmed up as I approached Calgary so when I hit the BC scales at Crowsnest Pass I was legal all around.

    Chewy352 Thanks this.
