I see Mega Carriers, and "B" and "C" level carriers pulling forward, and owner-ops, and "D" level carriers parking at the fuel island
Is the Flying J in Effingham ever not busy?

I was there yesterday afternoon and I did not have to wait for a pump. I have fueled there several other times and I don't recall having to wait for a pump. Maybe I just hit it at the right time...

I'd have much easier time putting up with how busy it is if they would just sell me some effing ham!!! (Ducks to avoid thrown DEF jugs)
Warrior Pump Thanks this. -
They don't call Effingham The Crossroads of America for nothing. 57 and 70 are major interstates.

Interstate 57 shouldn't exist. It was a built to funnel traffic away from St.Louis by racist Chicago mafia affilliated neo communist trade unionists.
The loudest guy at the Petro lunch counter told me that and they are never wrong.TruckDuo, Straight Stacks, joseph1135 and 2 others Thank this. -
I'm sitting 25 miles from I57 right now. I spent a lot of time on 57 as kid traveling to see my grandparents in Wisconsin.

Considering its you. Im not surprised.MJ1657, HotH2o and Swedish Chef Thank this.

It was MUCH better back when it was just a Huck's truck stop. When P/FJ bought the diesel side, it went to crap. First they removed the diesel desk so you have to walk AAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL of the way through the #### place and wait in an under-staffed line to get your receipt or buy what you might need before getting back on your way...and they USED to let you refill your mug with the fuel purchase.
I still prefer it over the pilot or TA in town...but it ain't what it once was anymore.
