Well I book loads right now that are to cheap for the labor involved, 1200 bucks on 800 miles all over the place, tarp pay is included on that price, a lot of these shippers want drivers to wok for free, as an owner operator this sucks, frieght is cheap and it's not all due to cheap fuel, a lot of people are basically wanting slave labor to move the freight and I'm glad I paid cash for my #### bc I ain't hauling it, there's no since in hauling step deck freight for 1.50 to 2.00 a mile when van frieght pays the same, it's a dirty business out here and I know even when I'm hauling a good paying load someone is reaping the benefits along with me, but that's fine with me, agents need to stop pushing cheap platform frieght bc it ain't right, I'll haul stuff for cheaper if it's light doesn't take up the whole trailer, and doesn't tarp, but full trailer loss for that cheap and tarp, no sir. I just left my tarps at home for this trip bc I ain't tarping and driving for 800 miles for basically 200 bucks by the time you take fuel and everything else out.. Drivers have been getting screwed WAY more that brokers shippers and receivers have, what's a brokers overhead compared to a o/o? What about a shipper? There are ways to fix some of this, not all bc like you said some of it is just #### happens, and you gotta roll with it, but as for me I have mouths to feed and a life to live, so your darn right I try and charge extra on accessorials on CHEAP frieght, and if I have a chance to slow the process down to get that extra pay, I'm doing it when you have to lift a 120 pound tarp roll it out on precarious load and still make it look good at the end. Just my two cents....

"Internet Rambo," and "Truck stop CB Cowboy," I have to say, I will probably be using these excellent phrases myself. Thanks!

It is C/S job to be professional regardless. I mean the title even suggests that. They are there to service the customer.
I am also not going to assume not knowing the OP that they did not at first attempt a pleasant inquiry and then after getting the run around may of popped off.
I mean it is Landstar C/S we are talking about.
They might as well of been calling the cable company.
