I think you should try to talk to some current Maverick drivers. my info is quite old. How hard do they force you to run???? As a driver you SHOULD want to run as hard as you legally can. I will say that NOBODY there ever asked me to do anything illegal. I can't say the same for Schneider.

I dont need to make 3500 miles as my bills arent that expensive. But forcing myself to only take a 10 hour break just to make money to me, is unsafe. At least day after day after day, week after week.
Im used to doing it for meat loads, but alot of loads have enough time on them that I didn't have to and I liked that.
If I ran as hard as I possibly could 3500 miles wouldn't be hard to get... but there would be no time to relax at night as its immediate going to sleep. No showers. No nothing. Haha. -
When I started, the breaks were 8 hours, not 10. I really urge you to look up some current Maverick drivers on this website.

i am. Started a convo.
Im not against working hard, but not everyone needs to be worked to the bone. you know? Im not lazy, but I also like to have my time at night which is why I dont mind spending alot of time on the road. Hometime isn't too important to me. I Just want me time.
Of course, going home once a month is nice. I have no problem with that and not alot of people can do that. I dont mind once a month going home!

If you want to work for Maverick, you gotta be VERY dedicated. It is a hard job. I remember I would get loaded at a steel mill north of Jackson, TN with a very mixed load of steel channel going to Rockford, IL. It took several hours to properly secure that mixed loads, and the temp was 104 degrees one time. Think about what that is like. There is not a shower available heading north until Paducah, KY. That is an example. I am not sure if you are cut out for it.Sneakerfix Thanks this. -
So, it was constant rush loads where you had only three days to move 1500 miles?
I got loads that did 1500 miles in four days or an extra day on a load. like 6 days for 2500 or something like that.
I run 500 miles a day at 62mph, 8 hours a day. Take a 12-16 hour break. Get up again and do the same thing. Never was late and stuff.
I have no issue sitting there to help secure the loads. Haha. -
You don't HELP secure your load. You secure the load.

That sounds like a good exp. MY problem is the rushing of loads. relaxing at NIGHT. I dont mind working hard otherwise. Sorry if I was confusing earlier

What are you going to do when you are exhausted, dirty, and drenched in sweat and you are out of drive time and have to sleep at the shipper for your 10?? That WILL happen!Sneakerfix Thanks this.

Then I am 100% happy with that.

But I do liek to read a book at night before going to sleep. I do like a shower. I do like to eat dinner. ya know? Thats all. haha.
