One thing most people don't take into account is this... it doesn't REALLY make a big difference between .37 and .40 or .42 per mile if they leave you sitting in a truck stop all the time.
Research your loading and unloading pay. Any detention pay. Do they pay practical mile , or household mover guide (big no'!)? Hub mile pay is WONDERFUL !
If you load on Thursday in Phoenix and can't deliver in Dallas until Tuesday. .. you are sitting and making ZILCH.
These are common occurrences nowadays. Drivers get an average of 250-300 miles a day and sit around.
Everyone had to pay their dues at first, but a little investigative diligence may help eliminate some heartache.
Myself? I've always been fortunate to be in a segment of the industry that runs my wheels off and I get paid for everything I do. Sometimes I just have to yell... "enough for now, let me catch my breath".

Unless Swift specifically violates some clause of the agreement you made with them, you probably shouldn't violate any either. Stick with them, and do what you agreed to do. Then take that experience on to better things. JMHO.
