I'm sure JCT raised their rates. Just not raising our pay per mile like every other company. So, I rather have the higher fuel prices.

Ok so idk why I keep doing it but I am the kind of person who likes to help out but I swapped with another driver yesterday who had to get home. Didn't hurt my week in any big way. Got to the TA where he was and on my pretrip of the trailer it had 3 bad tires. Other driver has only been with jct for a month and suggested I roll with it to witch I Said why don't you just give me the money for the ticket then. So I get them fixed and my dispatcher calls me and asked if the driver knew about the tires before I got there. I said I didn't know and in my more than slightly miffed state I said if he didn't then he didn't do a proper pretrip Cuz the tires were bad enough I could tell they were bad from 20 ft away. One was so bald and damaged the t/a couldn't even give jct the tire casing discount or what ever it is. I just don't get it why drivers think it's ok to just push it on the next guy. It's that kind of mentality that makes it worse for us out here. Got a call from my dispatcher this morning and they are giving me 75 dollars for doing the swap and getting the tires fixed. I think they are going to let the other driver go. He picked up on monday at saputo cheese in tulare, ca and only got as far as Holbrook, az by wensday. The load originally delivers in Joliet IL at 6 am Friday but with the fiasco and my low hours on my 70 I had them push it back to 1600 Friday and I'm still not 100 percent I can make that Cuz if anything goes wrong and I get slowed down I'm screwed. If it cant be delivered on friday the appt because of the holiday weekend will be reset to next Tuesday. Was told if that happens I will drop and get another load so thats good

Howdy, I have a question about JCT. I own my own truck 09 KW t660, so I wouldn't have a lot of the deductions as you guys do.
On the Web site they use 2800 as a go by to figure expenses, just wondering if that is realistic.

It bounces around 2800. Im also an o/o and my weekly manditory deductions are only 91.39. Plus I have 12cpm put in my maint account.

    Curious why you're considering jct.

I'm currently leased to schneider, I have no intention to sign their new agreement, and the freight rates are down, I know it's nation wide but I just can't justifying running a load from PA to MO for .87. Sure I could wait for a good load, but who's to say it would be better.

I feel it would be easier to make what I need per week at JCT because 1.) Even at 2500 miles I would still be where I need to be. 2). All the thing I pay for now, I wouldn't have to there at JCT.

    KeithT1967 Thanks this.

Good reasons. Just keep in mind that o/o's get dispatched the same as everyone else. You can get a little wiggle room if your dm will work with you. I'm having ac issues and they are trying to keep me north right now.

Yea I understand about the dispatch part. That really doesn't bother me too much as long as I can get at least 2500 miles. Ive been looking at other companies where I can dispatch myself but most want you to lease a trailer, I would be in the same boat. Honesty I'm not enthused about pulling a reefer but, you have to do what you have to do.

Even though I am a L/P driver here, I can say that if you want keep moving, they will keep you moving. Same the other way.

I don't turn down loads, and I don't do resets unless aboustly necessary. So far this quarter I have averaged 3000 miles a week.

Good deal, I can definitely handle those numbers. That's why I'm interest in jct also, I've read through this page and everyone seems happy and staying busy.

One other question...how are they in the winter, do they expect you to chain up or is it at the drivers discretion?
