What is their passenger policy? Age, cost, how long you have to be with company etc

I am going to let someone with more recent knowledge answer you, Just Nva, because I think the cost has changed since we were there.Their rider policy always seemed fair to us and reasonably priced. I can't remember the age but....I believe children have to be at least 10 years old. You only pay the premium for the month or months that someone is riding with you, you don't have to pay for a whole year. George, can you answer this one since you were the last company driver that we had with TransAm?

    JustNva Thanks this.

I honestly do not remember. Call recruiting and ask for Jonette Owens. I think rider policy was $19 per month deducted out of your paycheck, 10 years old and up. 90 days before you can add a rider.

One tip I thought of for new drivers going out with a trainer:

Tell your trainer you will reimburse him, in cash, for points and politely ask if you can put fuel on your Pilot/Flying J rewards card. You want to get 500 gallons on your points card so you can be at the "shower power" level right away when you start driving solo. "Shower power" level gives you one shower credit per day for the month, if you fuel that day or not.

You can check your status online or at any Pilot/Flying J kiosk. Work with your trainer so you both get to the 500 gallon level within a calendar month. It is easy to do if you are running miles and fueling alot. Points are worth $.01 per gallon so you will need to give your trainer a $5 once you reach shower power level. You will get this $5 back. Use your reward points when you scale, turn in the scale ticket to TransAm and you will be reimbursed.

FYI, I always use my truck stop points exclusively for scaling through the reimbursement process, it is a way to turn points, one-for-one, direct into cash.
