Actually doing 3000 miles a week is not that hard in fact if your running in states where the legal truck speed is 70mph you can almost do 770 miles per 11 hr day in flat driving conditions but say we cut it back to 680 miles per day in 5 days that's still 3400 miles all legal it really comes down to what you want to do and how much you want to earn when i was driving i had low overheads the company i worked for allowed me to live in the truck and even use it when we weren't hauling so i had no rental expense no car expenses really my only expense was food. so i was happy averaging only 2000 miles a week however everyone's circumstances are different a friend of mine that was married had to rent a house plus pay for all his kids expenses so his income requirements were alot different to mine. I often wonder if a driver shows up for a OTR driver job interview and says oh i'm only prepared to drive 1800 miles per week and i won't work for anything less than .45c per mile hmmm i wonder what his chances of getting a job would be? Gitta done, Go hard or go home

I'll object. I got a good trainer. I got a descent truck. And they got me a home load from atlanta to Boston on a friday delivering on Tuesday 18 miles from my house so i can go home for an extra day. Can't be all that bad?Chinatown Thanks this. -
You have turned this into "most money for a rookie at a mileage pay mega".............that was not the title of the thread. Just "most money for a rookie". If you want to chase miles for cents have at it. I surely don't have to, and know many others who are WELL paid on a percentage basis. Either way you choose; the bottom line is to make the MOST money on the FEWEST miles. Period.MJ1657 Thanks this.

Funny you quote. "Most money for a rookie" which is what i've been talking about all this time if you actually take the time to read my posts. Unless we are talking about 2 different things the point is you don't come in here and have a go at me which is what you seem to want to do. Everything i've said is fact and i'll say it one more time the more miles you drive the more you will earn Period doing less miles will earn you less money Period. As i stipulated i was personally happy doing around 2000 miles a week cause i didn't need the dough however that may not be the case with other drivers Period, all of us have different financial issues and need different amounts of income Period.

You are not getting what he says. It's the work smarter not harder concept. You are wrong that more miles always equals more money. It's simply not true.KenworthGuyNH Thanks this.

100 % correct Josh you stick to your opinion and do not let those other drivers influence you, those other folks would not have clue what they were talking about most likely either union workers or commie loving tree hugging socialists i have driven for almost 30 years and its always about doin the miles.aussiejosh Thanks this.

I am done with this thread. Engaging in a battle of wits with defenseless men is poor sportsmanship; and I decline to participate any longer. Enjoy your miles; I'll enjoy my money. -

When people do not respect us we are sharply offended; yet in his private heart no man much respects himself.
