I have a 2006 freightliner with a Detroit , the accuator on the turbo gets stuck in the down position. it seems to happen at the beginning of the shift, it will not correct it self while the engine is running, but if I shut it off and come back the next day it will run fine. When it does get stuck I lose power, but have no smoke at all. Any ideas?

You have a bad vpod. It is the mechanism that supplies air to the actuator. Probably the most common of egr failure issues for these engines.

Just follow the air line from the actuator to the vpod. It'll be near the oil cooler.
