Overnight tomorrow. Loading in Portland and delivering to a station in Boise area. Come back empty. Should be fun in the winter.

I've been skimming over these fuel threads for awhile myself.
After spending the last, three years with tanks, I've given fuel hauling a thought a few times.
But then I read things like this and I kind of get the shakes.

Milk pumping and hauling seems like an easy night compared to the many things that could go wrong on this line of hauling.
Time for a confidence booster!!! lol

If you think hauling gas is bad you should see the stuff chemical guys haul acids that will eat skin etc. Stuff that if you have a bad day could be your last.

I wouldn't go near any of that with a 100' pole.
I'll still give the fuel hauling thing a try when I get the chance though.
Looking at Coastal out in Albuquerque to get properly trained in the game.
Not to mention that the hours must be more uniform like 6PM TO 6AM every night for the most part.

For now, I'm just going to keep up with the milk hauling gigs until I get the apps in for the fuel places.

    plant Thanks this.

Kind of wished I got into tankers when I was still living in CA.
But NM has been pretty balanced out here when it comes to the driving side of things.
I already chatted with Coastal in ABQ and apart from a 6/2 schedule, the night shifts are pretty uniform.

Dairy, for the most part, is all about when the blasted animal wants to start milking.

I hear ya been hauling fuel for almost a year and love it. We run 4 days on 3off, with plenty of O.T. days if we want.

    plant and bentstrider83 Thank this.

Plant, Cal kid, I read where Vinvale was closed. They gave no reason why besides the fact that they have not met the Clean Air Act for some time. Just wondering. I have all the old files when the terminal was rebuilt back in the 80's so I know where all the bodies are buried. Figured you guys would know.
