Doing Good From what I understand should be in own truck soon. Me on the Other Hand getting Ready for my Almost two day Bus Ride out to Olathe

 

Seems Really quiet on here lately Is everyone Ok??

 

Well..... I'm parked on a street in NYC, mty,with no load out of here yet. In all ffairness tho, can't legally move till noon 30.

 

We're doing ok, jdmredneck......it just seems as if all of the things that I have been procrastinating on are catching up to me at once!
Are you ready for your trip to Olathe? Did ya make a list and check it twice?
You know the routine and have read all of the advice from everyone.....and you know everyone here will help you as much as we can. My only other bit of advice is to stick with them for at least 6 months....no matter how frustrating it is.......it will open so many more doors for you. I will be praying for you that you get a trainer that is more than just someone trying to make a truck payment, that he will be a true mentor and become a friend. However, remember that no matter what, it is just a couple of weeks tops and it will put you in a better position to accomplish your goals.

 

I have been hearing that one of the favorite restaurants on I 80 in Iowa will be closing soon. Everyone is saying that the Pinecone restaurant in Brooklyn will be closing around the first of October. My understanding is that Kwik Star has decided to put Denny's in all of their truckstops. Many many drivers are angry and upset about this and sending emails to the corporate office ....who knows? ....Maybe it will make a difference.

The acquisition will make XPO the second largest less-than-truckload carrier in North America, the company says. Con-way Freight, Menlo Logistics, Con-way Truckload and Con-way Multimodal will all be rebranded as XPO Logistics.

 

Never heard of XPO

 

They have a nice website- http://www.xpo.com/ - Their reviews are mixed, some that rank it the very best place to work and some that say it is the worst. I imagine that the truth is somewhere in between. There weren't very many reviews by drivers.....my guess is that like most mega-carriers, they have a high turnover rate.
