A good reference and leaving with a handshake is worth $100 in my opinion.

And not having the local PD come looking for that truck is worth the other $100

    truckon and ErikN Thank this.

Truck is in my "home terminal" key is where it should be and he has GPS on it to see that it is there. I had a job lined up with 1 phone call after he ripped me off the 1st time and his own driver manager will still give me a good reference.

He is quitting his lease here expecting me to move his crap around for him.

I do appreciate the advice, perhaps tomorrow after I've calmed down I will be able to think it through better.

Like I said... we've all been burned. And surprisingly enough, I'm simply regurgitating the advice my mom gave to me in a similar situation. Haha

Your pride and the demand of respect would definitely require that you file a lawsuit on him HARD.

The practical thing to do is get his truck back. Get your money and bail.

He can find a way to dodge the legal stuff and labor board claims if he is that shady and it will just cost you alot of time, money and heartache.

    Time is money.

    Honestly, just being honest.

I would find a way (any way) to get my bus fair and then some. Sell fuel, haul a load, whatever.

Then I would neglect the #### out of his truck all the way back to UT and pick up my check.

If there was no check. He just might get a truck back with a blown engine.

Yea, I'm a Leg for an Eye type of guy.
