Ok stupid question, how does the dippole need to be set up?
-
will the antenna on my truck suffice for the dipole. Here is my truck
-
There are pictures of a couple of dipoles in the cascadia antenna solutions thread. I found my dipole worked better when insulated from the bird perch mount.

You won't find the Firestik you need at a TA. 4' for the positive radiator will not cut it.
When you make the dipole, be sure the negative radiator (downward antenna) is installed without the insulator.TROOPER to TRUCKER Thanks this. -
Thanks, works great somewhere around 10 miles in the rain. Now that I know a bit about it I am going to get a shorter coax and rewire it and remove the already mounted antenna and a couple other things.
-
After a little more tweaking it just keep getting better, almost done with it.

I had a cascadia once and I had stilts in St Mary's Ga put two hustler antennas in the stock mounts and they worked awesome with my connex.TROOPER to TRUCKER Thanks this.

I've seen a few of the stock systems work pretty good also.....but it is very rare.TROOPER to TRUCKER Thanks this.
