There was talk of this among many drivers when I started driving in the mid '80's . Never happened . Every year since , someone might start this chatter . Whether it was the cost of fuel , overtaxation , government intrusion , differential speed limits , etc . Too many drivers willing to continue to be complacent . There are quite a few truckers advocacy groups but , collectively , everyone out there wants something slightly different for their own benefit .
Multiple Driver Shortage posts.

There is no driver shortage. It is a lie conjured up from those that sell trucking schools and run mega-crap companies that profit from subsidies. Big surprise that these people are often one in the same.
If there was a truck driver shortage there would be no need or desire to strike as suggested in this post. -

I can remember driver shortage claims when I started in 1976. Never have been to a grocery store where the shelves were bare because of it. Indeed, logistics is so good now that I can order something from JEG's speed shop in Columbus OH and have it the next day in South Bend IN, and pay nothing for freight. If there really was a shortage, that would not be routinely done...
Now there is a shortage of decent lot lizards....Toomanybikes Thanks this.
