Op stated it has been months since he used the medication, there is a good chance it won't even show in a hair test if they only go back 3 months.

Are you still going to maverick.
Also if it comes up on your UA or HFT the MRO will contact you nothing more needs to be said to the clinic which only takes the test they do not do the actual testing.Last edited: Sep 13, 2015

^^^^^^^This. PERIOD.^^^^^^^
If you do disclose it to your (potential) employer, they may choose not to hire you based on society's biases/assumptions, even though you were legally prescribed it. I know this from personal experience.
If it shows in your drug screen, the MRO (Medical Review Officer) of the testing facility will contact YOU, not your employer. As long as you have a legit Rx, they will check it out, and you'll be GTG. They will not and cannot legally disclose this to your employer.
Good luck.Wcampbell86 and Sneakerfix Thank this. -
Reminds of the question of.. what do put in remarks for off duty and sleeper on my logs.?
Blew my nose, restroom, lunch, changed clothes. Put pajamas on, Went to bed..
Geez -
Sorry, I replied before I got to this post. RnR is spot on here. I am currently under the care of a physician, and every time I get randomed, they contact me, then check on my legal Rx and possibly my physician (who is on record that I am absolutely fit for duty/driving), and that's it. My employer isn't involved at all. Period.rocknroll81 and Wcampbell86 Thank this.

I'm confused as I've never failed a drug test. But if the clinic doesn't notify the employer of a failed drug test, how does the carrier no if a candidate failed?
Nevermind I took a second to reread your post, sorry.Mudguppy Thanks this. -
MRO>CLINIC, you get the point. @Mudguppy pointed it out you took the drug legally. Lieing, withholding information how ever politically correct you want to be, chances are if you disclose it too the carrier, they'll be more concerned with the condition not the drug that you were prescribed. You shouldn't have any issues getting a job.
Mudguppy Thanks this. -
The clinic will only inform the carrier if 1) You have something illegal in your sample (ie-Marijuana, Cocaine, etc.)
OR
2) You have something "legal" in your sample (ie-Opiates, Benzos, etc.) but cannot produce a legal prescription or a medical doctor that prescribed said medication.
If you have a legal prescription and/or a doctor acknowledging your legal use of said substance, the clinic CANNOT legally inform the carrier. It's against HIPPA laws for them to do so.
Hope that helps clear it up some.Wcampbell86 and Erick Evans Thank this. -
As long as they can get me in this weekend yes I still plan on going to Maverick. If not Im not sure who but I cant wait around for weeks. Yes the medicine was used to help me sleep while going through a divorce. I counted them earlier. I was prescribed 90 and there is still 86 of them. It was prescribed in May so thats over 4 months Im pretty sure Ill be good to go. Thanks for all your advice. -
Even if its prescribed, try to get off it ASAP. Opiates and trucking are one bad mix.
