Why is there only one driver appreciation week?

Be glad you get a "week", most only get a single day. (Bosses, Secretaries, Mail Carriers, etc)

What would make you "feel appreciated" anyway? Free coffee and donuts at the terminal? More pay? You realize pay has nothing to do with "appreciation" but is an exchange for your labor.

 

why does Christmas come once a year, Thanksgiving, New Years Day, Halloween, July 4th, my birthday, your birthday, my colonoscopy.......??

frankly, from all the geeks and freaks i see, someone is NOT adhering to the once a year Halloween Day...!!!!!!

as i see it, if we get a WHOLE WEEK of appreciation, we are ahead of everyone else that only GET'S ONE STINKING DAY....

(except the Halloweenie freaks.....)

It's because we're no more special then anyone else that goes to work everyday.

 

What's the difference any way? Truck stops give "discounts" (at best) that actually make their over priced products just a little closer to actual cost of the same product anywhere else.
And companies hold picnics or BBQ's for the freaking office personnel or the one or two drivers that may happen to be at the terminal during that one day of that one week.

Driver Appreciation Week is a joke all the way across the country.

If you REALLY appreciate me...slap a $500.00 bonus on my next check, and keep your stupid hotdog.

 

My wife, family and good friends appreciate me. I appreciate that.
