I was trucking long before APUs came on the scene but since then I have driven dozens and dozens and of our companies trucks all outfitted with Thermo-king TK Tri-pac APUs..
This week I drove one of our newest trucks that the new owner ordered with the cheap(er) carrier version of the APU and I just want to simply say it did NOT measure up to the quality of the TK unit(not even close)
I guess this Carrier unit is a step above the rigmaster brand APU but it is far far behind the TK in quality..

i have been next to them carrier units when they start up......no good you need ear plugs! i was at the truck show this year...finally made it......anyway i saw the new dynasys unit. the sales guy there said it was exactly like the evolution....except cheaper and better, called it the sl. tried to sell me on it with something about a bigger standard alternator but idk????? anybody seen these yet? im curious???
