They might cross into a few different countries in one shift. And we complain about going to California, you know, that other country.

Haven't you seen "European Vacation"? I didn't work too well for Clark Griswold.

Yup, she shouldn't have been on the phone. Pilot drivers on the phone seem to be a epidemic;I see it all the time. Seems some think they should be paid to drive around in a car and accept no responsibility.

Washington State's Bow hill scale should have stopped that truck also. Is I understand, it cruised right by the station even though it was open and had a over height indicator and warning.

The permit system should have alerted everyone to the danger. That did not happen. The government office drones just like to collect money and obfuscate responsibility. I am sure no office drone got fired or even reprimanded.

However, that bridge was not labeled or signed in any regard to it's hight. That is a major failing on part of the state as far as I am concerned. I have travelled that bridge 100's of times and it always bothered me. Even with a 14' trailer that thing looked close to hitting. From the first time until now I always used the left lanes, in the center of the bridge arch, on the bridge. That driver, especially hauling 15'4 oversize, should have done the same.

hat you say. its easy to hit something at 3 am in the dark . You would think , we can go to the moon a gazillion times, for a gazillion dollars, we could raise the #### bridges.

this may sound and or seem to be easy.

but it is not, all the time.

if say for instance, it is a R/R bridge, several miles back before and after the bridge, the ground as well must be elevated to accommodate the height change in the R/R tracks. one cannot just raise a R/R bridge all that easily, and the costs will be on the R/R, not the state, city or town...

a typical over-pass bridge can be "dug under", but again, for several yards before and after. if the budgets do not allow for the monies to be spent, it will not get done. if the state can borrow or get federal funding, maybe this can happen. but i do not see the gooberment stepping in to help.

it's cheaper to send a crew of astronuts into outer space it seems, than it is to spend the money down here on earth.

then again, our gooberment, will only send THAT money, over seas, to fight communism, hunger, clean drinking water, and hookers for the gooberment officials over there.
