A while back, someone posted a picture of a driver that chained down a jet engine by throwing the securement over the top. I remember cringing, then laughing. I saw a guy do THt before. I was at the ATL airport picking up a $14m Rolls Royce engine, and another driver was securing an engine and he threw a chain over the top of it. I was in his face, "What in hell do you think you're doing???? Get that chain off the top of that engine!!!" He didn't know. A freakin chain!

Reminds me when I first started hauling crane booms, they had to tell drivers to use straps.

I hauled a final drive assembly for a large excavator in the back of my service truck. Was worth a little more than $60k from what I was told.

If You as a driver get all sweaty and nervous about the size and/or the value of the load.. you shouldn't be hauling it. When a person "over thinks" the situation you will inherently make misteaks..

The most expensive I've hauled was two pallets of iphones valued at two million I think?? I think that's what the insurance was, I can't remember the value. But I can't see a pallet of iphones costing a million. If you took 1 million divided by say $600 per unit. You get 1667 units. I don't think each pallet had that many, but I'm always bad at the guessing jar game.

I haven't heard one driver in here say they were sweaty or nervous about hauling expensive freight if anything none of us give it much thought I just thought it would be a fun topic.

Sometimes one, sometimes two of these.
Depending on the engine and model the price runs between $13/$18 million each.

In a trailer, $750,000. In the truck a little more than $1,000,000.
