53step...........a question for you.
What is the price difference between a DD15 and a DD13? -
daf105paccar . . . We have not priced the difference . . . we already know we're going with the DD15.
-
I guessed that allready.

I was just curious as to how big a difference it was.

UPDATE: We have SCRATCHED FREIGHTLINER PERIOD AS THE NEW TRUCK after Research and Getting down to Crunching the numbers extensively with a Freightliner Dealer. Reasons: Quality on ALL COMPONENTS less than desirable although Price is equitable to a Kenworth T660 with A VIT Interior Cummins ISX 485. Will be going with the Kenworth T660 ... just trying to narrow down whether to go with the 72" or 86" Sleeper. Cascadia is also having way too many sensor problems. Not too mention, the extended warranty does NOT include the DT12 Transmission without spending a lot of extra dough! I understand that on a Kenworth Cummins with Eaton Fuller Trans . . . separate warranties due to separate manufacturers but the whole point of the Cascadia was the Detroit DD15 / Detroit DT12 Trans are same manufacturer and it doesn't make sense ... if Freightliner doesn't have enough confidence in their new "DT12" transmission to back it without paying an extra $6,300 for a non deductible 5yr/500M Warranty ... well then, can't justify spending the extra money on it either. Not too mention, the Freightliner "Dealer" MADE A $10,000 ERROR IN HIS FAVOR after putting proposals together for over a month! Then he tried to correct the problem (he said he was taking full responsibility for) by pulling all of the upgraded specs we had asked for . . . so needless to say told him to "FORGET ABOUT IT"
. End result his "error" if one believed it was an error at all . . . did us a HUGE FAVOR. Ahhh, the joys of buying/ordering a new truck! Still Smilin'!

Quick question: does anybody know why the Coronado has a 30 inch wheelbase longer than the Cascadia? Is that a question of weight distribution? Need to know before I buy my truck next April thank you
-
Bob, not to be rude but I would think starting a new thread would be to your benefit...

Cascadia is a setback steer axle, Coronado doesn't. Kinda obvious diff.

In most cases the engine and axle are moved back to shorten the wheelbase, making the tractor shorter and more maneuverable. There are a few exceptions. There are setups with only the axle setback and setups with the engine setback but the axle in a long wheelbase position.
In certain applications the longer wheelbase is a plus.Last edited: Sep 15, 2015

You can get a Coronado set back axle.
