I remember reading somewhere that northeast is rare but im not sure. and if your not experienced youll need time with a trainer. also I saw a video of a guy talking about how melton is really easy to work with when you need to stop cause of weather and planning your routes around it. from what ive seen you do get less miles in the winter but youll still get a decent amount. watch some youtube videos from melton drivers

let me know what you decide to do and how it works out for you, I heard a few bad things about starting out with them but with some experience could be good. im in southeast too and would prefer regional but im out of most hiring locations for it.

I did a little more looking up about cypress one thing I saw is that they have really old equipment and drivers are saying they don't get treated well. and the home every weekend apparently isn't true either.

Im currently at cypress my 3rd day in orientation ended today. At first was lil hesitate but it isnt that bad.....most loads are gonna be drop & hook just throw straps just about everything is pre tarped....u deliver to home depots and pickup from either the yard a loaded trailer or at a local gypsum plant either mainly running georgia and florida or if ur based out of nc terminal u run carolinas...sometimes virginia so its not too bad i think i may stay...(have pre hire to melton) bad thing about cypress is i have flatbed exp and they want me go thru 7 weeks of training its paid but i would think with the exp i have not much but being drop and hook you wouldnt be on that much on job training...kinda why alot guys turn cypress down....now if ur new that be different but to have almost 4 months reg flatbed and come to drop & hook n train for 7 weeks kinda out of hand but i dont make rules....so i guess im going give it a try...that and they pay for hotel but all meals are on you. However they did feed us a lunch today....first time...

I gotta keep in touch with you about how you like it. I like the fact it's for Home Depots tho that should mean a lot of non dangerous freight potting soil lumber etc. maybe lowes too? Cause I used to work next to a lowes and now I think about it I saw a lot of cypress trucks behind it I knew it sounded familiar. I'm in northeast sc btw. start cdl school Monday so I got some time to make a decision. Definitely wanna hear how the trucks are been hearing they are old but that could have been a while a go.

Well if ya makes you feel better i live in lexington SC lol so not far and the do have some older trucks but thats for short haul guys my understanding is that otr guys like me will get newer trucks not brand new but newer ones....i seen. Few international pro stars which they ride good (my previous truck) and they have newer petes. The older equipment isnt running their basically getting all newer stuff.....and its possible you can get home during the week. Plus ur paid all ur miles and they do have tution reimburstment so youll get your money bck for school too!

Oh awesome ive been there a few times in high school beautiful area. Went though the WIOA program so they paid the full 4,000 CDL school already, also paying me 100 bucks a week while im in school which is fuking sweet, so that's not an issue. and awesome about the trucks id be doing the OTR too. you know if they got driver facing cameras? not a deal breaker for me just wondering.

They do but it only records if u hard break to truck moves side to side back n forth real quik for 10 seconds...hell the terminal manager told us cover it up if u dont feel comfortable if trucks stopped today. And running florida and etc is easy southeast is easy period ive been northeast never agan....midwest isnt bad and west isnt but south east is a breeze and you starting down south would be good for you being new plus youd get all 4000 wia paid to you in your pocket thru there reimburstment. If you want i can send you the link to fill out to get pre hired...
