Sorry, George......I didn't mean to be such a grouch.
My point was and is that TransAm is a starter company. It is a place to learn and gain valuable experience. They assume the liability and responsibility for new drivers. At the same time, they have to stay competitive in the trucking industry in order to be able to continue to afford that liability. The pay, benefits and frustrations of TransAm are equal to those protocols. No matter what the school brochures tell you, you do not start out at the top in this industry......as in any other career, you gain experience and move up. When you really take a look at it though, compared to other work situations, a driver can move up on the payscale very quickly once he gains that experience. That's where TransAm comes in......learn, gain experience, move up.

Stay strong, jdmredneck.....just a couple of weeks and you will be gaining that experience to put on your resume.

When you lease a truck you are assuming the responsibility of business ownership. To me, that is a long term commitment. Why on earth would you make a long-term commitment and go into business with a starter company? Many new drivers get caught up in the flashy brochures and the big numbers......and don't think about it in a realistic manner.

The pitch for leasing gets amped up during training. Stay strong.

Last day of my home time. Going back out tomorrow. Trip to Long Island, NY. Should be able to see some family.
