Interstate has great equipment. That's all can say for them. They have impossible standards for the paperwork. Always claiming logs and trip sheets improperly done. The last trip I did with them was to the east after running up and down the west coast for nearly a month and expecting a little home time, they asked me to take a quick run to the east and be back in about a week. I spent the next three weeks going back and forth east of the Mississippi. "We're working on getting you home" they kept on saying. While in the north eastern area I ran up over three hundred dollars in tolls that I had to pay out of pocket. When I put in the papers for reimbursement I was told that I had paid too much and it was my own fault. They were not liable for the excess tolls and only paid me back a few dollars. Every trip was set up with about three hours to spare which meant I had to run all that the law would allow. Meal times was almost non existent. At the end of the day I had to decide weather to sacrifice sleep time for a meal or vice versa. To top the whole thing off I never made more then $425 a week.

The last guy I talked to there was the self important Safety manager. HIs big thing was cutting you off when you tried to say something in self defense. He put up his hand and say "Flashdrive, stop" The other day in a movie lounge we were watching Jack Reacher which I had not seen but I remember it was in theaters at the time I was talking to that guy. I laughed out loud figuring he was copying that expression from Tom Cruise.

Sounds like you need to find another gig ... They know the east coast is full excessive tolls, so how did they figure that was your fault? .... Probably because it sounded like a good excuse to screw you out of your $
.....hope you found a better outfit by now and hope you told the self glorified safety man to" get it there himself":biggrin_25523:

Oh but I did. I havnt been with those pirates for more then a year and a half. Every time I see one go by I shake my head. At the truck stops when a driver climbs out of one of those green things usually looking disgusted and weary I want to say "You have my sympathy" PS for your nearly three decades of service and experience I salute you.

I see very few in Georgia and never have seen any in Florida. They seem to stay in 11 western and sometimes Midwest.

To expect a driver to be liable for tolls in a company truck is totally unacceptable. I don't care if it's for 50 cents.
