Hess Dispatch service...or another dispatch service?

Give me a break, I yank a van for land starve. Closest I ever got was $1.93 per mile on a dedicated auto parts run that only lasted a few weeks.

 

They had 1 reasonable post responding to your comments, and then another 2 copy & paste posts (including a separate thread) advertising their current special.

I'm glad the mods here put the kibosh on that -- many of the once useful facebook groups have been overrun with spammers.

Probably a small company, I still get asked if I want to take a load unless the rate is very good. As far as $2 per mile though I am not sure, it varies so much.

 

I think $2 would be great. Especially with a guy dispatching me, keeping me busy.

Wish I got the guys name and number.

 

I always wonder $2 what? $2 rate? average $2 all miles in? $2 vvhore? It's the height of vagueness to say "$2 a mile". There's a #### load of $2 rates out here going any direction you want just about however far and every #### one of them are dirt cheap loads. Actually I think $1.75 is now the new $2 any more.

 

There is endless amount of then on FB.Don't expect miracles, I book from spot,loadboard market, everywhere is terrible now for dry van.

 

Man....if I could get $2 a mile all miles...guess I'd just sell my #### and get a job flipping burgers for $15 an hour in NY. New state minimum for fast food workers.
Break down what you make a week, and how much less you'd spend on life if you were going home with a free bag of Big Macs every nite.
C'mon brothers, if you do well with a dispatcher: great! If you lease to a place that'll dispatch you and make you more than you dispatching yourself....why are you dispatching yourself? This is a business.
The more money you're making (taking home) the more bragging rights you get.

 

I said ttt. If I was getting $2 for every mile my truck rolled I'd consider that a decent wage.

 

I'd want to see some doc's and do some math. I haven't hauled hoppers, but I looked in to it. They all paid either ton weight or bushel count point to point. The rate is not out of line, but sometimes people round it up to feel better. Like Rollin Coal's point, maybe it's 50 miles a day.

 

You said that. These dispatch service people are kinda fuzzy on that. They'll choke up and stutter and stammer with excuses lol.
