I like sleeping to the gentle rumbling of that big motor, Kind of like momma sing me a lullaby. If its above 60 I run a/c with blankets piled on, if its under 40 I run low heat with blankets piled on. Also, it cuts outside noise, like reefers, when you set your air brakes, I won't wake up for jakes running into the parking lot, ect. Plus I can leave my running lights on and reduce the chance of some nimrod backing into the front of my cab at 2am. Lots of reasons, but mainly I sleep better when my rig is running.

All of the trucks had either missing screens or idle problems? Makes sense

The carriers need to stop air conditioning and heating their office buildings to increase profits.Mother Trucking Princess and Ougigoug Thank this.

If I could dictate which way the 90 plus degree wind blows... I still wouldn't be comfortable breathing it in, and if it were that simple do you think princess would already have the window down? It's common sense, or at least it should be. Btw- for safety reasons in a strange place just how far down do you put your windows down?? Just checking because I'm NOT a moron that would put it down & then fall asleep in a peaceful slumber without having nightmares about stalking creepers. It's bad enough us truckers have to worry about idiots with guns trying to peg us off like on I-10 last week.

I always tell the lot lizards to lock up on their way out. Sometimes they do sometimes they dont.
-
You also have to worry about a piss jug thrown carelessly out the window by another driver parked next to you. -
Hell naw ,I am not gonna roast my self or frees to death in that #### truck ,run that ac/heat the company will pay for it
-
I delving costs money. A lot more than using the APU and bunk heater....that's why companies frown on it.... OSHA rules allow you to idle when A/C or Heat is needed so state idle laws have exceptions for driver comfort in inclement weather.
