All of my vehicles I prefer manual. I love being part of the machine. With an automatic, I'm just a steering wheel holder. I even enjoy double clutching. I have no interest in floating gears aka speed shifting.
    I love to drive.

Manual. It's an important, very enjoyable, part of the driving experience for me. I'm glad I'm not being given an automatic company tractor... Yet (maybe I'll buy my own before that happens).

Shifting without using the clutch is not the same as speed shifting, which only a moron would do. It's hard on everyrhing. I haven't used a clutch in 30 years and never had any troubles. Btw, autoshift transmissions are garbage, the shifter module wears out often. Give me an 18 manual any day.

What's the difference in no clutch, putting pressure of the shifter on the gear gate and using the accelerator on or off to slip into gear in floating and speed shifting. Or maybe you call speed shifting something different? Not looking for a fight. Looking to be enlightened in all seriousness.

I prefer being in control of the show. Last thing I want is the truck deciding it needs to shift when I'm trying to maintain traction.

If you need an automatic so you can "concentrate" on your driving, you don't belong in a big rig! If it ain't manual, I'm big driving it and the more gears, the better!

I've driven a manual at work before. It was an old 1986 Chevy Custom Deluxe 3 speed with granny gear. Some people could drive it without using the clutch. I could never figure out how to do that (truck was already on it's last legs anyway)

I listened to my instructor in school when he told me shifting without the clutch is BAD. Then I discovered both my real world trainers did not (floating gears).

    ...I float.
