This has turned into quite a gig, eh?
Its pretty crazy they released you, you delivered a load, broke down, and now are being told you need to complete 7,000 more miles. I think you should tell your FM you only have x amount of miles left according to your e-logs/pay stubs, or whatever it is that you use to keep track of the miles. If they say, no, you need to do 7,000 I would ask why? How did they come up with 7k as the number?
I know it really sucks to have to go back with someone to complete training, but I honestly would go ahead and finish however many miles you need to get on your own. I'm assuming you won't have to any another finishing road test or anything like that since you may have already did it. You will just have to drive for however many miles, right?
Also, why did you leave ABF to go to Prime? You no doubt would've made 2 x as much at ABF as you would at Prime.darthanubis and texasbbqbest Thank this. -

Not even close to 2x as much. Maybe in 15-20 years if he's lucky enough to get a sweet bid.
I'll give you 2x standard of living though. Home every day/night is hard to put a price on.Chucktshoes Thanks this. -
Finally have a chance to respond to this one -
I got with the powers that be at Prime and am moving forward with training. I don't have a trainer yet though.
To answer your question about ABF - I left it because I didn't get enough work and OTR was what I was really thinking about doing at the time anyway.
Now that I've dabbled in the OTR juice, I understand the differences. I really really like driving over the road. However, based on what I've experienced thus far, I wouldn't want to do it forever. I'd like to lay down roots somewhere. Basically since I've been at Prime, I've lived out of my car. It's weird not to have a place to go where you can leave stuff out.
I think it would be nice to find a regional job that gets me home every weekend, but for now, I'm with Prime until I get enough experience to go elsewhere.darthanubis, FreightlinerGuy, truckon and 2 others Thank this. -
